Enjoy the Journey - Finally a Teenager
I made this card tonight for one of my students. Last Friday, right before Spring Break, was his birthday and all of his other teacher's got him gifts. Luckily, he went home before I could see him, so he doesn't know that it wasn't ready in time :) I realized something very important today; teenage boys are more difficult to make things for than grown men! It must have taken me an hour to figure out what I was going to do. I searched my Cricut cartridges over and over hoping to find something to cut out for the card, but never found anything just right, so I turned to my tried and true techniques from Tim - those always work :)
The base of the card is Java Bazzill Cardstock.
The blue and brown patterned paper is from the Making Memories Just Chillin' stack.
The stamps and inks are Tim Holtz's.

I just found you blog. What stamp did you use? I do not have many stamps yet, so which ones are the best quality. I did read somewhere if you buy cheap stamps the ink will bubble up on them. so does that mean the $1 rubber stamps at the craft stores are no good? Just wondering
ReplyDeleteI just made a blog myself, but do not have much on it yet. My illness has prevented me from doing much lately, other than reading you gals blogs, lol.

ReplyDeleteYou hit the nail on the head with this card...I agree about how hard it is to find something appropriate for teenage boys...
ReplyDeleteThis is a great card. I love the distressed look and you captured the perfect card for a young man. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool card! It's so hard to do cards for teenage boys, imo, but you've done a fabulous job here.
